Hong Kong, Mira Hotel, April 26, 2013 – Hong Kong Communications Co., Ltd held the event with the theme “Connected Living – Integrating and empowering the community for better quality of life” to share the latest trend and technologies for Home Automation, RFID Library and Interactive Solutions. The aim of the event is to provide the superior quality of life by advanced technologies to the community. The technologies can bring every individual physical and mental health, spiritual, and social belonging to the living environment. The two sessions in the events cover HKC’s two main solutions, Home Automation Solution and Library Management Solution. Nearly one hundred attendees from HKC’s strategic partner companies, public Medias and potential customers came to the event.

We are also honored to invite Chairman of HKC International Holdings Limited, Dr Hubert Chan, and General Manager of Singapore Communications (Wavex) Pte Ltd, Mr Samuel Ng and Vice President of Civica, Mr. Kok Meng Leow to share the latest and future trend of Home Automation and Library respectively. To achieve the provision of connected living through the use of innovative technology, HKC’s Home Automation with new emphasis on Green and Healthcare, new ideas integrated into HKC’s Libra RFID Solution, innovative Real Time Location Tracking and Multi-touch Solution were displayed for attendees to experience.

In Seminar, the attendees not only experience the smart control and security system in HKC’s Home Automation (HA) Solution demo room, but also look into the newest HA application in healthcare. With the integration of the use of RTLS to Home Automation, the Healthcare HA solution can support elder adults in the environment of their choice in lieu of institutionalization or nursing home placement by connection with healthcare center. Further, elderly can be with help in emergency if needed. The human-caring concept in HKC’s HA Solution not only attracts the attendees’ attention, but also become the hot topic in several mainstream medias.

We also demonstrate the latest development of the new i-Hospitality Solution. This mobile-device-based solution is widely used for hospitality industry, providing rich experience to users. The web-based application and system connect guests and the property anytime anywhere. Aligned with mobile promotion strategy and green program, HKC’s i-Hospitality solution increases the customer loyalty, drives more revenue and strengthens the brand image.

HKC RFID Library Solution combines the powerful RFID technologies and ubiquitous web-based applications to create an efficient, seamless and modern library environment. HKC’s new RFID LIBRA Solution is able to work on a common platform that seamlessly integrates with library software and hardware devices; in turn helps the flexibility in the deployment. We displayed various library solution applications in the demo library environment where the attendees experienced the operation of auto-check in/out of books, real-time inventory management of books and so on.

Multi-touch Solution is an interactive display solution realized by the Multi-Taction cell and technology. The features of unlimited number of touch points simultaneously, compatible with different operation systems and stackable to any size and shape make it attractive to the attendees. With connection to Wi-Fi network, we synced live photos and videos onto the Multi-touch panel and all attendees were allowed to share them to their own social networks immediately.
